Chefchaouen is a town built on the slopes of the Rif mountains, with very narrow, winding streets that meander through the medina. This traditional architecture makes it virtually impossible to add car parks. The old streets are simply not wide enough to accommodate modern cars, and the medina is protected for its historical heritage.

Nor does the town have much flat land on which to build. Built on mountainous terrain, Chefchaouen lacks available space for car parks, whether underground or above ground. Furthermore, the town was built long before the motor vehicle era, so its infrastructure was never designed for motor traffic.

For these reasons, most hotels can only offer limited parking outside the medina or an arrangement with a nearby public car park.

After careful research, we have identified hotels in Chefchaouen that guarantee secure parking for your vehicle during your stay.

TAJ CHEFCHAOUEN Luxury Hotel and Spa

Located in the heart of Chefchaouen's old town, the TAJ CHEFCHAOUEN Luxury Hotel and Spa is a modern establishment close to the main sites of interest, such as Khandak Semmar, Place Mohammed V and the Kasbah. The hotel is close to Outa El Hammam square.

It is important to note that even hotels offering parking in Chefchaouen do not have spacious car parks. Due to the town’s mountainous terrain and historic architecture, car parks remain practical but modest. Spaces are often limited and narrow, designed to meet urban constraints rather than to offer maximum comfort.

If you are staying in Chefchaouen, expect a functional car park that will allow you to park your car safely, but not modern, spacious facilities. This is an unavoidable reality in such a historic, mountainous town. We recommend that you explore the medina on foot and reserve your car for trips outside the town.
